BUILDING- N. PALEN. Constructed in 1895, the right side of this building was the home of the GERMAN AMERICAN SAVINGS BANK while it existed at the corner of 18th and Couler (Central) Avenue.
The growth of business in the bank led to the construction of a new bank building on the same side of the street in the same block which opened for business on August 1, 1918.
