SWIFT, Samuel. (Benton, WI, Oct. 15, 1875--Dubuque, IA, July 19, 1952). County recorder.  A barber by trade, Swift served as county recorder from January 1, 1907 through December 31, 1912.  He also served in the state legislature in 1933-1934.  In 1916, Swift was president of the Dubuque Poultry Association.
