In 1881 Schroeder entered the wholesale grocery business with J. H. Kleine. Along with Kleine, F. A. Rumpf, and Mrs. J. P. Ferring, Schroeder incorporated his business to form the Schroeder Kleine Grocer Company in which he served as president.

SCHROEDER, Frank. (Diekirch, Luxemburg, July 16,1840-Unknown). County Treasurer. In addition to being one of the founders of the Key City Insurance Company, Schroeder assisted in establishing the Dubuque Altar Manufacturing Company and served on the board of directors of both companies. He was a delegate to the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago in 1880 prior to being elected county treasurer.

In 1881 Schroeder entered the wholesale grocery business with J. H. Kleine. Along with Kleine, F. A. Rumpf, and Mrs. J. P. Ferring, Schroeder incorporated his business to form the Schroeder Kleine Grocer Company in which he served as president.
