KEY CITY BREWERY (THE). After Ambrose Gleed lost the former DUBUQUE JOINT STOCK BREWING COMPANY (THE) at a sheriff's sale in 1880, John Pier reopened the business as The Key City Brewery. The business employed ten men and produced ten barrels of beer daily.
Pier operated the business for three years before closing it.
