THOMPSON'S FOOD MARKET. Located at the southwest corner of Jones and South Locust, the store opened on January 7, 1916. The owner, Frank W. Thompson is pictured on the left. Lorraine Sullivan is pictured in the center with Mary S. Thompson on the right.
The 1955 Dubuque City Directory listed 250 W. 1st.
The 1959 through 1966 Dubuque City Directory listed 240 W. 1st.
Thompson's was located in 1972 at 1st and Locust and Asbury and Carter. By 1986 the store at 250 West 1st had been renamed the 1st Street Food Mart.
