LAGEN, Bernard. (Lancaster County, PA, Oct. 3, 1840-- ). Lagen's parents came Dubuque in 1848. He learned the trade of blacksmith and afterward worked in the livery business. He later established the city's first omnibus line, the only one in the city, running six horse-drawn vehicles to take people to their destinations.
