BLOCKLINGER, Albert Herman. (Dubuque, IA, Nov. 26, 1868-Dubuque, IA, 1924). Physician. One of the earliest recognized experts in the field of x-ray examination, Blocklinger studied internal medicine in Vienna, Berlin, and Berne. He established his practice in Dubuque in 1906. Blocklinger belonged to the American, Iowa State, and Dubuque County Medical associations and served as president of the latter. He wrote extensively for professional publications and was considered a national authority on tuberculosis. During war times, Blocklinger served on the medical examining board and at his death held the rank of captain in the medical reserve corps.
