MIDWAY MOTOR LODGE/HOFFMAN HOUSE RESTAURANT. Located on Dodge Street (Highway 20) east of KENNEDY MALL, the motor lodge and restaurant, separate businesses, opened for business in October, 1979 amid a recession.
The motor lodge advertised sixty rooms surrounding the lodge's indoor swimming pool would be available first. In October another 95 rooms in the adjacent four-story building would be opened. Poolside rooms would cost $29 for one person and $39 for two. Rooms in the adjacent building were $2.00 less.
