ROBB AND DAY. Lumber mill. Located at the foot of Seventh Street, the company was established in 1876 by O.H. Ingram, D. Kennedy, and William Harrison DAY, Sr. Obtaining logs from the Black, St. Croix, and Chippewa Rivers, the firm employing one hundred men was able to produce a million feet of finished lumber in addition to shingles, laths, and pickets annually in 1880. The lumber was sold wholesale for an estimated value of $250,000. This company was later incorporated as the STANDARD LUMBER COMPANY.
