FROMMELT, Ludwig. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 11, 1866--Dubuque, IA, May 1955). President, Dubuque Awning and Tent Company.  Employed for many years by the Cooper Wagon and Buggy Company, Frommelt purchased the Cooper Awning Company in 1923 and established the Dubuque Awning and Tent Company.  He founded [[FROMMELT INDUSTRIES]] in 1951 and retired as president of the Metz Manufacturing Company in 1953.  An active member of the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, Frommelt was a major support of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
