FROMMELT, Ludwig. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 11, 1866--Dubuque, IA, May 1955). Employed for many years by the A. A. COOPER WAGON AND BUGGY COMPANY, Frommelt purchased the business in 1923 and established the DUBUQUE AWNING & TENT COMPANY. He founded FROMMELT INDUSTRIES INC. in 1951 and retired as president of the METZ MANUFACTURING COMPANY in 1953.
An active member of the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, Frommelt was a major support of the ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY.
