FROMMELT, Ludwig. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 11, 1866--Dubuque, IA, May 1955). President, [[DUBUQUE AWNING & TENT COMPANY]].  Employed for many years by the Cooper Wagon and Buggy Company, Frommelt purchased the Cooper Awning Company in 1923 and established the Dubuque Awning and Tent Company.  He founded [[FROMMELT INDUSTRIES INC.]] in 1951 and retired as president of the [[METZ MANUFACTURING COMPANY]] in 1953.  An active member of the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce, Frommelt was a major support of the [[ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY]].
