TRUEBLOOD, Terry. (Lyons, CO- ). Recreation director. Trueblood was appointed recreation director in 1982 when the park and recreation departments were combined by the City Council. He replaced Richard SLATTERY who moved to Davenport to became Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. With Trueblood’s guidance, the city developed park and recreation facilities on Chaplain Schmitt Memorial Island, improved facilities at BUNKER HILL MUNICIPAL GOLF COURSE, and expanded recreational programming. In 1986 Trueblood resigned to take a similar position in Iowa City.
