DUBUQUE PLUMPERS. HORMEL FOODS CORP., the successor of FDL FOODS INC. and the DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY produced the popular hot dog until January 2015. FDL formed a marketing and distribution agreement with Hormel Foods Corp. in 1985. This was renewed until 1993 when Hormel bought FDL's brands and trademarks.

The decision to no longer manufacture the Plumper was made through a routine review of sales.
