TOALE, Thomas (Rev.) (Independence, IA-). Educator. Beginning in 1987 Toale, a graduate of LORAS COLLEGE, served as the Superintendent of Schools for the ARCHDIOCESE OF DUBUQUE. Toale's experience in education began as a classroom teacher from 1975 to 1977 at St. Joseph School in Key West. Ordained a priest in May 1981, he returned to classroom teaching from 1981 to 1984 and held the principalship from 1984 to 1986 at Marquette High School in Bellevue. Toale accepted the position of Associate Superintendent of Schools for the Archdiocese in 1986.
In 1988 and 1989 Toale was an instructor during the summer session at CLARKE COLLEGE. During the same two years he was also a guest lecturer at the University of Iowa where in 1988 he received his PhD in educational administration.
