HESS, John. (Wurtemburg, Germany, Mar. 13, 1832-- ). Hess emigrated to the United States in September, 1850, and lived in the city of New York five years. He moved to Chicago in 1855 and carried on business there nineteen years. The business on State Street was destroyed by fire in 1874.
Hess came to Dubuque in 1874 and established the DUBUQUE SHOWCASE FACTORY.
