FITZHUGH LEE AUXILIARY BRANCH NO. 1. On March 20, 1907 the Fitzhugh Lee Auxiliary Branch No. 1 became the first auxiliary of the Spanish-American War Veterans in Iowa. The officers of the new organization included Mrs. Carl Clark, president; Miss Laura Thill, first vice president; Mrs. Lena Thill, second vice president; Mrs. Mary C. Whitby, secretary; Mrs. Cora Skemp, chaplain; and Mrs Margaret De Lisle, treasurer.
