OLD HOUSE ENTHUSIASTS CLUB. The Old House Enthusiasts is a charitable organization involved in promoting historic preservation, conservation, education and awareness. Annually in May, the group sponsors during DUBUQUEFEST/VERY SPECIAL ARTS the "Old House Tour." This allows members of the community and tourists the opportunity to appreciate many of the city's historic homes. The cost of $10.00 to participate in the tour is used as a fundraiser for area historic places and educational materials. Grants are awarded annually to non-profit organizations supporting historic preservation.
Monthly meetings of the group often feature a guest speaker. There is also time provided for the exchange of restoration ideas.
