KEGLER, Christian Mathias. (Germany, Feb. 24, 1848--Dubuque, IA, Feb. 9, 1902). Moving to this country with his parents when he was three, the family settled on a farm near St. Donatus. He later opened a large general store in Springbrook and had financial interests in several large creameries in Jackson County.
Around 1894 Kegler and G. A. Schenkowitz announced the discovery of a cure for cancer. Coming to Dubuque, Kegeler established a sanitarium at 8th and Washington STREETS.
