VORWALD, Elmer. (Dyersville, IA, 1907--1997). Union leader. Vorwald worked at [[FARLEY AND LOETSCHER MANUFACTURING COMPANY]], [[GENERAL DRY BATTERIES]], and the [[A.Y.MCDONALD MANUFACTURING COMPANY]]. He was a member of the Carpenters (Millworker), Molders, IMU Local 263 and Machinists, IAM Lodge 1238. Vorward served as vice-President of IAM Lodge 1238 and president of the Dubuque Metal Trades Council. He was a charter member of the [[DUBUQUE AREA LABOR HALL OF FAME]].
