JAMES FORESTER. James Forester manufactured overalls and shirts and advertised that "every garment was warranted."
The 1875-1876 Dubuque City Directory located the business at 823 Main.
The 1880 Dubuque City Directory listed 565-567 Main.
The 1884-1885 and 1886-87 Dubuque City Directory listed 520 Main as the address.
The 1890-91 Dubuque City Directory listed James Forester and Company at 745-755 Iowa for this wholesaler.
On March 10, 1892 a contract was awarded to James HOWIE for the construction for the company of a new brick building four stories high at the northwest corner of 4th and Iowa. (1)
