KEMPF'S BREWERY. The 1868 Guide, Gazetteer and Directory of the Dubuque & Soux (sic) City Railroad stated that this business was located along Southern Avenue.

The 1868-69 Dubuque City Directory listed the north side of Southern Avenue west of Locust.

In 1878 A. Wender sold his store and bar located in the brewery to Huss & Ewen who were to continued the business. (1)
