Miss Greater Des Moines is an open pageant where candidates must go to school, reside or work in the State of Iowa. The pageant is a preliminary to Miss Iowa. The winner of the Miss Iowa pageant advances to the Miss America contest in September. Kristina's talent was jazz dance and her platform was pursuing a heart healthy lifestyle & advocating for the American Heart Association.
In February 2015 Kristina crowned her successor, Serica ROWLEY who was also a native of Dubuque.
