NORMANDIN, James F. (Massachusetts-- ). Normandin was hired as publisher of the Telegraph Herald to succeed Thomas YUNT. Prior to coming to the Telegraph Herald, Normandin had worked for papers in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Ohio. Just prior to his appointment, he had been responsible for nine Brown Publishing daily newspapers, fifteen weekly papers, and three production facilities.

During his first eight years as the publisher, Normandin directed the creation of a partnership program for community-wide employee recruitment through the GREATER DUBUQUE DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION using the newspaper's AccessDubuqueJobs website; automation of the Telegraph Herald distribution center, expansion and redesign of THonline (2011), incorporation of social media into digital products, redesign of the print Telegraph Herald (2009), and creation and redesign of several in-paper and stand-alone magazines.

For an extended time, Normandin oversaw Woodward Printing Services and WOODWARD COMMUNICATIONS, INC. weekly publications. He also headed a corporate-wide sale initiative, Rev It Up.

A Woodward Communications vice-president since 2005, Normandin in 2012 was the chairman of the Independent Newspaper Group, an organization of privately owned newspapers across the United States. In 2012 he was the recipient of the Iowa Newspaper Association Distinguished Service Award.

Within the community, Normandin has served as board chairman of the local United Way, local and state Make A Wish organizations, TWO BY TWO, and chairman of the Carnegie-Stout Public Library capital campaign.
