LULL, Mary E. (Jamesville, NY, Feb. 1, 1840--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 29, 1923). Married to Dr. John H. Lull of Dubuque, Mary Lull was active in art, musical and literary circles in the city. She was one of the founders of the HOME FOR THE FRIENDLESS and one of the early sponsors of FINLEY HOSPITAL (THE). She served on the boards of both for many years. (1)
Her donation of $5,000 to the CARNEGIE-STOUT PUBLIC LIBRARY made possible the purchase of several internationally recognized works. (2)
