	WASHINGTON RELAYS. In 1941, [[BREGMAN,Henry\|Henry BREGMAN]] and Milo B. Harshbarger began the first track competition between junior high boys. The first year, six schools competed including Washington, Jefferson and Loras Academy. The track at [[DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL]] was enlarged in 1948 to a quarter mile and out-of-state entries were accepted from cities including Cuba City, Prairie du Chien, and Platteville.
