	WALKER, F.T. (Lindsay, Ontario, Canada, Aug. 1, 1841--Island of Capri, Feb. 6, 1889). The youngest in a family of seven children, Walker showed an early interest in learning which convinced his parents to send him to school in Montreal, Quebec and later to Regiopolis, Kingston. He moved to Dubuque in April, 1865. He studied law in the offices of Griffith and Knight and after passing the bar formed a partnership with Alonzo Cragin. This lasted until 1873 when the law, loan and real estate firm of Walker and Rhomberg was formed. (1) His service as an alderman in the city ended in 1877.
