Fraternity in 1880 had fifty-three &amp;quot;subordinate collegil, a branch of which--Hawkeye Collegium--was organized in Dubuque on September 30, 1880. The group began with forty-two charter members. There were 1,200 across the state.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The organization stated that its membership was growing &amp;quot;with proper care, none being received who are not good men physically as well as morally.&amp;quot; Officers of the group included: [[ALLEN, William Paggett|William Paggett ALLEN]], rector; S. M. Fowler, vice rector; A. J. Schlager, chaplain; [[CORRANCE, Hugh|Hugh CORRANCE]], scribe; George B. Rand, questor; A. E. Peck, usher; [[JONES, Evan E.|Evan E. JONES]], speculator; G. G.
