Madyson Moore, a native of Dubuque, who played collegiate hockey on the East coast and spent three seasons as the assistant women's coach at Utica University in New York State was hired as the head coach of the new women's program. While new to Dubuque, the program was not new to the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association, one of the top Division III circuits in the country. 			In 2024 University of Dubuque officials announced a significant expansion to the home of its aviation program. Changes include a 15,000-square-foot addition to the east side of Babka Aviation Learning Center, which is near the Dubuque Regional Airport, with space for additional certified flight instructor debriefing rooms, workstations and office spaces. The expansion also will include space for about 20 new flight simulators, parking lot growth from about 50 to about 275 spots, an extension of the flight ramp and the addition of two hangars.

			Babka Aviation Learning Center opened in fall 2019, doubling the size of the previous flight center. Since then, the aviation program had grown from 250 students to 400. This growth, together with overall growing demand for pilots, necessitated the latest expansion, said Randy Warm, director of aviation programs at UD.

			University leaders said they hope the expansion keeps UD’s program competitive. UD President Travis Frampton said the program is more than just a “flight school.”
			“You can learn to be a pilot in flight school, but … we offer a collegiate experience,” Frampton said. “We’re training them not just to fly, but educating the whole person.” Being able to fly in year one, which is not always the case in collegiate aviation programs, is a draw. Frampton said the program’s longevity indicated that it could survive even during less-favorable periods for the aviation industry.

			Plans will need to be approved by the Federal Aviation Administration and Dubuque Regional Airport Commission, after which construction would start, with an expected completion date of December 2026. (67)

Located adjacent to U. S. Highway 20, the field is 80 yards wide by 120 yards long and was the second field in the Iowa Conference to have a lighted natural grass turf. Located adjacent to U. S. Highway 20, the field was 80 yards wide by 120 yards long and was the second field in the Iowa Conference to have a lighted natural grass turf. The field served both as a practice and game site for the men's and women's soccer and lacrosse teams. During the summer of 2014 the natural grass was replaced with Mondo Synthetic Turf playing surface that simulated the feel and performance of real grass.

	The field was dedicated on September 27, 2003. The two-level press box was added to Oyen Field in 2011. The lowest level ~~serves~~ as a locker room for Spartans soccer and lacrosse. 	The Stoltz Sports Center was constructed as an addition to the McCormick Gymnasium. The gymnasium, built in 1914, was renovated to ~~included~~ new racquetball courts, indoor pool, Alumni Athletic Hall of Fame, and a multi-purpose playing court.
