Locally, Trausch was past chairman of the United Way, the Salvation Army Building Fund, was the exulted leader of the Elks Club, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Council 510 served on the boards of the Boys &amp;amp; Girls Club, [[CLARKE COLLEGE]], [[LORAS COLLEGE]], [[XAVIER HOSPITAL]] and Viterbo College, La Crosse, Wis. He was a 60-year member of St. Columbkille&amp;#039;s and served on many parish boards. He was a two-time president of the [[DUBUQUE GOLF AND COUNTRY CLUB]] and was the founder and last original member of the 990 Club, [[DUBUQUE SHOOTING SOCIETY]].&lt;br /&gt;
