	TANNER, Merlin. (Nov. 19, 1914-- ). Tanner began bowling in 1942. By 1948 he was the secretary-treasurer of three 14 team leagues, a position he held for 15 years. He was elected to the board of directors of the Dubuque Bowling Association in 1946 and served as president during the 1948-49 season. In 1953 he was elected secretary-treasurer of the Dubuque Bowling Association and held that position for 23 years. He was the tournament manager of the Oakland Dairy Holiday Tournament for 17 years. He was a delegate to the Iowa State Bowling Association meeting thirty times. He was instrumental in establishing the Junior Bowling Program in Dubuque and was a Certified Junior Bowling Coach.
