New page

SYUSTAINABLE LAND DEVELOPMENT INTERNATIONAL (SLDI). In 2002 Tony Wernke and Greg Yoko created an online magazine for [[EAGLE POINT SOFTWARE]] entitled '''Land Development Today'''. The acceptance of the magazine and interest in developing it beyond its original plan led Wernke and Yoko to establish Futurus Communications to acquire the rights and assets of the magazine in July 2004.

A printed version of the magazine was begun in October 2004 and a series of workshops under the Land Development Breakthroughs brand were offered in October 2004. The name of the magazine was changed in 2007 to '''Sustainable Land Development Today''' and another national magazine, '''Sustainable Urban Redevelopment''' was begun.

In July 2007 the company was moved downtown and became the first tenant in Wilmac Property's refurbished building at the corner of 10th and Washington. On January 1, 2008 Futurus Communications contributed its assets to SLDI and a new for-profit membership cooperative was started.
