&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;New page&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&lt;div&gt;STOLTEBEN, William.(Prussia, Germany, Mar. 27, 1829-- ). Stolteben came to Dubuque in May, 1856; he began working at his business--merchant tailor and dealer in men&amp;#039;s furnishing goods at the corner Main and Fifth [[STREETS]]. In addition to his large stock of goods, he built one of the finest and most pleasant homes in Dubuque and was one of the city&amp;#039;s successful business men.&lt;br /&gt;

In 1867, he married Mary F. Hellman, oldest daughter of John H. Hellman, on of the oldest and wealthiest citizens of Galena. They had four children - Frank, Willie, Paula and Bertha; Mr. Stolteben had two sons, Rudolph and Anton, by a former wife.&lt;br /&gt;
