	Winning the Stephenson Trial Advocacy Competition "Best Litigator" award while in law school was an indication of honors to come. She was the recipient of the International Association of Trial Lawyers' Award. She was also listed in an edition of ''Two Thousand Notable American Women''. The Iowa Academy of Trial Lawyers named her a fellow, a distinction limited to 250 lawyers practicing in Iowa. She also worked as a mediator through the Iowa State Bar Association mediator program.
