	From 1974 through 1977, Schuster was a lecturer in foreign languages at Northern Arizona University and taught an honors course in the history of the Italian Renaissance. He was a visiting professor of history and political science at the Ibero-American University, Mexico City, Mexico, during the summer programs of 1965, 1967, and 1972. Schuster served as president of the Wisconsin Council of Latin Americanists (now the North Central Council of Latin Americanists) from 1969 to 1970.
