	SCHMIDT, Judy. (Bloomington, WI-- ). Educated at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville where she received her bachelor's and ~~masgter~~'s degrees, Schmidt received the 2005 Dubuque Teacher of the Year Award at the 18th annual Educator's Recognition Dinner. Her thirty years of teaching English at [[STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL]] was in addition to her years of service on the executive board of the [[DUBUQUE EDUCATION ASSOCIATION]] in the area of political activity.
