	RICHTER, Henry. (Prussia, Germany, Nov. 24, 1844-- ). At the age of thirteen, Richter began learning his trade. In 1871, he came to Dubuque and worked for [[CONNOLLY, Thomas\|Thomas CONNOLLY]] and for seven years held the position of foreman of the wood-working department. He later joined [[NEWMAN, John\|John NEWMAN]] in the firm of Richter & Newman, carriage and wagon manufacturers, at Third and Locust streets before going into business for himself.		He came to the United States in 1869 and worked in the large carriage factory of Coan & Ten Broecke, Chicago. In 1871, he came to Dubuque and worked for [[CONNOLLY, Thomas\|Thomas CONNOLLY]] and for seven years held the position of foreman of the wood-working department.
