	PEOSTA HOUSE. According to the 1857-1858 through 1861 ''Dubuque City Directory'', this hotel was located at the corner of 4th and Main. C. C. Hewitt was the proprietor.		PEOSTA HOUSE. 	~~Apparently the~~ hotel was renovated ~~or moved because~~ in 1863 the construction of Peosta Hall on the third floor was a center of interest in the community. The arched-ceiling hall was 112 feet long and 62 feet wide with the distance from floor to the top of the arch being 35 feet. The side walls going into the arch were to be 23 feet. The hall would seat 1,100. The lower part of the building fronting Main Street would have an iron front. It was expected to be finished in February 1864. (1)		The hotel was renovated in 1863 by Emerson, Shields & Company. (1) The complete interior was changed and the construction of Peosta Hall on the new third floor was a center of interest in the community. The arched-ceiling hall was 112 feet long and 62 feet wide with the distance from floor to the top of the arch being 35 feet. The side walls going into the arch were to be 23 feet.
