Anticipating growth on the west side of Dubuque, the Iowa District East secured an option on 3.5 acres along Old Timer's Road (Kennedy Road) in September 1959. The first service, attended by fifty-six people, for the "Dubuque Mission" was held on November 6, 1960, in quarters rented from the Dubuque County Farm Bureau. 			In 1977 recognizing the great increase in value of the property since it had been annexed to the city in 1965, the church listed its land and building for sale for $825,000. It did not receive its asking price, so the church remained. (4)
