	In 1929 an article in the ''Telegraph-Herald and Times-Journal'' described the company as the second largest exclusive tube manufacturing company in the world. ~~The daily capacity was 12,000 inner tubes.~~ Company officials believed there was great expansion to come because the firm held the exclusive rights to manufacture the Martin Puncture Proof tread inner tube. Designed in Dubuque by executives of the company, the tube's design included a self-healing rubber compound that adhered to the object puncturing the tire allowing no air to escape while the object remained in the tire and tube. When the object was removed, the hole sealed itself.
