	OLD SETTLERS' ASSOCIATION~~. Organization of the first Dubuque residents~~. Formed by those who began the settlement of Dubuque, the Association was founded on June 10, 1865. [[LANGWORTHY, Edward\|Edward LANGWORTHY]] was elected the president and Chandler Childs was secretary. The constitution of the group provided that all male residents on July 4, 1840, could become members with the payment of a one-dollar initiation fee and monthly dues of fifty cents.
