	In 1851 a Mr. Eickoff, an acquaintance of [[KIENE, Peter Sr.\|Peter KIENE, Sr.]] and V. Hanf, joined the paper as the editor. He later moved to New York to become the editor of the Staats Zeitung, the leading German newspaper in the United States.
