NATIONAL NIGHT OUT. In its 11th year in Dubuque in 2021, the event promoted positive police-community relations and community unity. In 2021 the [[DUBUQUE POLICE DEPARTMENT]] organized the event in partnership with Dubuque Leisure Services, Target, and the [[DUBUQUE VISITING NURSE ASSOCIATION]].

In addition to meeting with officers and looking inside a police cruiser, ambulance, and firetruck, families played games and visited multiple community organization booths set up in [[JACKSON PARK]]. Positive interactions between community members and officials were focused on removing sources of tension and fostering positive rapport.
