	In 1907, he and his brother Herbert, joined Andrew Morrison in forming Morrison- Kretschmer Company. Kretschmer , the son of [[KRETSCHMER, Charles\|Charles KRETSCHMER]], finished his education in the Dubuque schools and then took a position with the [[GERMAN BANK]] and remained there until 1902. (1) He was elected county treasurer and served from January 1, 1902 to December 31, 1906. (2)
