This was to furnish a free 10 minute parking spot for people wishing to carry out brief business. The [[DUBUQUE REGATTA]] on August 10th featured only outboard motors because the river was considered "better adapted to smaller boat racing." [[RATS]] were a significant problem along the river and in December Ernest Keller of the [[DUBUQUE SKI CLUB]] announced a new ski tow.
