IOWA METROPOLITAN COALITION (THE). The Coalition was formed in 2008 to promote legislative priorities of Iowa's larger communities. Discussed for many years, the formation was a result of the fall meeting of the Iowa League of Cities in 2007. It was the intention of the Coalition to work collaboratively with the Iowa League of Cities.

Besides Dubuque, other cities in the Coalition included Ames, Cedar Rapids, Council Bluffs, Davenport, Des Moines, Iowa City, Sioux City, and West Des Moines.
