	Col. Holland, a resident of Warrenton, was a military attache at the U. S. embassy when Islamic fundamentalists invaded it on ~~Nov.~~ 4, 1979, and took the American diplomatic staff prisoner. The incident provoked a crisis that contributed to the defeat of President Jimmy Carter by Ronald Reagan in the 1980 presidential election.
