			Hoermann's associations included his role as Department Commander of Iowa, Spanish-American War Veterans of America (1908-1910). (2) He was the chairman for eighteen years of the Dubuque Good Government League and a charter member of the Dubuque Kiwanis Club when it was founded in 1920, its president from 1921-1922 and lieutenant governor of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa district of Division 6 of Kiwanis International. He was a member of the board of directors of the [[DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB]]; past president of the Chamber of Commerce (1928); chairman of the Dubuque Chapter of the American Red Cross (1937-1938) and chairman of its disaster committee (1936-1939). He served several years as chairman of the Dubuque Safety Council.

	Hoermann's associations included his role as Department Commander of Iowa, Spanish-American War Veterans of America (1908-1910).
