Stupid Fast won the 2011 Cybils Award in the Young Adult Fiction category. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Nothing Special&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; won the 2013 Minnesota Book Award for Young People&amp;#039;s literature. &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Cracking the Bell&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; won the 2020 Elizabeth Burr/Worzalla Award for Outstanding Artistic Achievement by a Wisconsin author.&lt;br /&gt;

Herbach also wrote and performed comedy. He was a co-creator and writer for Electric Arc Radio, Radio Happy Hour, Powderkeg Live, and The Lit 6 Project. He co-wrote the musical &amp;quot;Don’t Crush Our Heart&amp;quot;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Herbach has published stories in the &amp;#039;&amp;#039;Minneapolis Star Tribune&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;The Middle West Review&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;MnArtists&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;, &amp;#039;&amp;#039;American Nerd&amp;#039;&amp;#039; and presented on Minnesota Public Radio. &lt;br /&gt;
Residing in Mankato, Minnesota, he is an associate professor and teaches creative writing at Minnesota State University, Mankato. He recently published &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Strange Times, The Ghost in the Girl&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; with Tom Lelonge. (2)&lt;br /&gt;
