	Cottet, his wife and one child, left for Dubuque from New York City sometime before 1850. Coming to Dubuque and finding other French immigrants who dreamed of French food and wines, he established the French Hotel in West Dubuque. ~~Located~~ in ~~1933 on~~ the ~~south side~~ of ~~Delhi Street,~~ the second ~~building east of O'Hagen~~.		Cottet, his wife and one child, left for Dubuque from New York City sometime before 1850. Coming to Dubuque and finding other French immigrants who dreamed of French food and wines, he established the French Hotel in West Dubuque.
			The bar occupied the east half of the ground floor. A small room in the back served as a sitting room. The remainder of the first floor and all of the second were devoted to guest rooms. The basement was used as the dining room and kitchen.
