New page

ELGIN CREAMERY. Moving into the former site of the [[EXCELSIOR BRASS WORKS]], Elgin Creamery announced that it would be ready for business in May, 1903. Making the other dairies anxious was the fact that pasteurized milk would be distributed by the new company.

To ease the concern of the other dairies, Elgin officials stated that they would be willing at all times to take the milk of the other dairymen, pasteurize it, and then return it to them for distribution. Elgin would also buy the product of the dairymen and then distribute it as its own product.
